Keep the bearing toward the Source. The chart is held within a slower revolution. In this working wheel, G12 spans 330°–360°. At the reference epoch, the bearing lies just beyond its lower threshold.
The fixed clock advances toward G01. The relational clock retreats toward G11.
Which zero? / clocks, parameters, sources
Zero follows the bar's selected near end. The fixed clock freezes that direction at 2000; the relational clock follows it as it turns.

Working frame: Sun as solar-system barycenter proxy / adopted Galactic dynamical center / constant angular rates. Bar-angle envelope 25°–29° gives phase 331°–335°, within G12. The bar end is followed continuously; choosing its opposite shifts the address to G06.
The solar system has a barycenter. The galaxy has a distribution of mass. Our charts sit inside both.
Celestial masses move. The field changes. The body is already within it. Astrology reads how these shifting gravitational relationships act through the body.
This notebook develops barycentric astrological transits from the solar-system barycenter, the Milky Way's barycenter, and other measurements at these scales. An addition to the Western chart: new reference points, relations, and cycles.
what enters the chart when its center is moving?
Solar instrument: operating below. Field record: one year received. Galactic phase: first wheel operating. Full Galactic dynamics: under development.
External field at Earth center. Sun and Moon are separate; other bodies use planetary-system masses and barycenters.

Crest
Gathering and intensification. Differences take a sharper contour.
Ebb
Release and redistribution. Established forms begin to loosen.
Concordance
Relations gather along a common line. Coherence joins forces or sharpens polarity.
Cross-current
Pressure across the prevailing course. Competing directions call for adjustment.

A passage / 5–12 November 2025
Six entries into the timed record. All times below are estimated TDB; follow a date to place the reading on the traces.
5 November / 12:59 · concordance Things begin arranging themselves around a shared line. Agreement and opposition can inhabit the same axis. Attend to what draws your scattered commitments into relation.
5 November / 16:16 · crest The contour sharpens. What gathered presses for expression; a difference becomes difficult to leave unnamed. Coherence arrived first. Intensification follows three hours and seventeen minutes later.
12 November / 05:30 · cross-current A second direction interrupts the established course. Make room for an adjustment before demanding a resolution. The axes meet at right angles while the tidal span is still falling.
12 November / 18:37 · ebb The span reaches its low turn, thirteen hours and seven minutes after the cross-current. Release the arrangement that carried the pressure. What remains can take another form.
The order is part of the reading.
On 4 December, crest arrives at 19:21; concordance follows at 23:15. Read intensity seeking its line: something presses into expression before its relations settle. The November passage runs the other way.
Across both passages the solar-system barycenter stays beyond the Sun’s surface, drawing inward. The slower turn carries these shorter encounters.
Across this year the solar-system barycenter remains outside the Sun and moves inward. No solar-surface crossing or radial station occurs in this window.
Daily curves are sampled at 00:00 TDB. A selected event can lie between those points; its readouts use the estimated event state. Ecliptic J2000 / ICRF geometric states; SI field and tensor units. Stretching/compression are the largest/smallest eigenvalues of the combined tidal tensor; span is their difference. The timed ledger refines extrema from hourly geometric positions and velocities, checked against a six-hour pass. Event times are TDB estimates rounded to the minute. The year record has its own fixed window, independent of the solar query above.
Two centers of mass, at two scales. Their cycles form the larger weather of the chart. These are the first transit definitions under development.
01. solar emergence / submergence
Use the solar-system barycenter's passage through the Sun's surface as a threshold. Define a crossing where its distance from the Sun's center passes the adopted solar radius.
SOLAR SCALE / radial distance − solar radius = 0 no crossing in the fixed year above; a wider catalog remains to develop
02. barycentric stations
Mark the turns where the solar-system barycenter's distance from the Sun stops increasing and begins decreasing, or the reverse. A proposed station in the relation between a star and its system's center of mass.
SOLAR SCALE / radial velocity changes sign direction changes visible in the radial-state trace
03. the galactic background
Model the solar-system barycenter's motion relative to the Milky Way's adopted mass center: orbital phase, radial turning points, and height above a chosen galactic midplane. Explore these as long-cycle context for a chart.
GALACTIC SCALE / requires a mass model and orbit model first phase comparison above; full orbital dynamics to develop
04. contacts with the larger center
Project the adopted Galactic center into an Earth-based Western chart. Look for conjunctions, squares, and oppositions from planets or the chart's angles to that direction and its opposite. Keep the mass-center model explicit.
COMBINED SCALES / proposed aspect rules: 0°, 90°, 180° reference direction, epoch, and aspect orbs still to be chosen
a local crossing. a galactic background. how might they speak to the same chart?
For the next dynamical model: choose which mass distribution defines the Milky Way's barycenter and how the orbit is modeled. Record the disk, bulge, halo, boundary, solar position, and velocity assumptions. A coordinate origin or the position of the Source must be named as an adopted reference, rather than silently substituted for a calculated center of mass.
To extend Western astrology through the solar-system barycenter, the Milky Way's barycenter, and the cycles that connect them. Astrology is the ground of this work. The inquiry develops its measures, its language, and the relationships between human and galactic time.
02. The body within the field
This astrology begins with the effects of moving celestial masses on the body, through their shifting gravitational relationships. The barycenter traces their changing configuration. The one-year field instrument follows external acceleration, tidal stretching and compression, and the axes through which their relationships turn. Spacetime and quantum relationships open further lines of inquiry within this material account.
03. What does this version actually measure?
The solar instrument plots the system's center of mass relative to the Sun. Its orbital view shows the X–Y projection; its boundary test uses all three coordinates, and acceleration is derived from successive velocity samples. The separate year record computes the external field and tidal tensor at Earth center, using Sun, Moon, and planetary-system positions and gravitational parameters. Both records use geometric ecliptic J2000 / ICRF vectors at TDB epochs. The Galactic wheel supplies a reference-date phase snapshot alongside them.
04. Sources / reference frames
The computed ephemerides come from NASA JPL Horizons. See its API parameters for vector origins and reference planes. For the galactic layer, Astropy's Galactocentric frame documentation describes the parameters needed to choose a galactic origin and solar motion. A coordinate transformation alone does not compute the Galaxy's center of mass. The McMillan Milky Way mass model is a research lead for the dynamical layer. The phase wheel uses an adopted dynamical center and a Sun proxy with constant angular rates; a full Galactic mass-center and orbital model remains to develop.
05. An inherited sky
Nut's encompassing sky, the passage and renewal of the Sun, and the zodiac meet in the cultural research behind this astrology. The coffin of Soter, around 100–120 CE, brings Nut and zodiac imagery into one field. Ephemeris develops this language of enclosure, passage, and renewal within a new galactic wheel.
06. If the source goes quiet
A failed solar query produces a simplified simulation, labeled as demonstration data. It is not an astronomical ephemeris. The latest plotted epoch can precede the end of the requested window, depending on the sampling interval. The fixed field-year record is separate: if it cannot load, retry to receive it.
07. Renew the instruments
Astrology inherits a long practice of observing, calculating, and reading the sky. Medieval astronomy and astrology shared instruments and intersected with medicine and natural philosophy, as traced in Oxford's history of the study of the stars. The work continues. Newly measurable celestial relationships enter the chart; the inherited language grows with them.
